Surgical intensive care centre
Intensive care centre of the surgical clinics and the clinic for anaesthesiology
The intensive care centre plays a decisive role in the intensive nursing and intensive medical treatment of our patients. This is particularly the case after surgical procedures, in emergency situations and after complex interventions. We ensure that every patient receives the best possible care by responding to the individual needs and challenges arising from their specific situation.
Our intensive care centre has around 65 state-of-the-art intensive care and monitoring beds available for this purpose. These provide the framework for all standard intensive nursing and intensive medical measures and therapies. State-of-the-art equipment enables us to effectively implement highly complex treatment approaches.
Our patients are cared for by interprofessional teams that are characterised by a high level of specialisation and expertise. Empathy, humanity and team spirit are not just buzzwords, but real values that characterise our actions. Each team member contributes their individual skills to ensure optimal nursing.
We also attach great importance to early rehabilitation measures, which are already integrated during the stay at the intensive care centre. This is done in close connection with patient-centred nursing that places the person at the centre. Our aim is not only to address the physical needs of our patients, but also to take their emotional and psychological challenges into account.
An outstanding feature of our intensive care centre is the high degree of decision-making freedom that our nursing staff enjoy. They are actively involved in the therapy management of intensive care and monitoring patients and thus make a decisive contribution to the quality of care. This responsibility not only promotes the personal development of our employees, but also directly benefits our patients.
Collaboration within the interprofessional team takes place on an equal footing. Respectful and personal interaction with one another is a matter of course for us. We embrace diversity in all its facets and are committed to holistic care that takes all aspects of our patients' well-being into account.
The integration of relatives into the nursing care process is very important to us. We support both our patients and their family members in critical life situations in order to convey a feeling of safety and security. Because we know that: In challenging times, it is particularly important that everyone involved feels that they are in good hands.
Working in the intensive care centre is not only characterised by medical and intensive nursing aspects; it also requires a high degree of empathy, interpersonal understanding and the willingness to face the challenges of everyday life. We offer an exciting working environment in a highly technical field with numerous training and further education opportunities that enable our employees to continuously develop their skills.
In addition, our intensive care centre acts as a training location for trainee nurses, as well as for participants in specialist further training, emergency paramedics, PJ students, physiotherapy students and many other professional groups. Interprofessional teaching is very important to us and helps to strengthen the team spirit.
All wards in our intensive nursing centre are identically equipped and offer state-of-the-art medical technology and support systems for daily work. We regularly implement innovative ideas; they are an expression of active participation. For us, innovation not only means progress, but also further development towards sustainable and future-proof healthcare in the intensive care setting - especially in view of the increasing demand for intensive care.
We see ourselves as role models within the interprofessional team and want our daily working atmosphere to have a positive influence on the behaviour of all employees and patients. Working at the Intensive Care Centre is therefore characterised by responsibility, interprofessionalism and expertise as well as the opportunity for individual training and further education.
We are proud to be part of the Intensive Care Centre team. Through our dedicated work, we make a valuable contribution to providing comprehensive support to patients in existential life situations - because everyone deserves the best possible care in difficult times.
