Development and Psychotherapy Centre (STEP)

Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

On our psychotherapy ward, we treat 14 adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 with various child and adolescent psychiatric diagnoses that require full inpatient psychotherapeutic treatment.

HOW DO WE WORK?

-Our inpatient integrative therapy includes a variety of psychotherapeutic, sociotherapeutic and psychopharmacological components, e.g. depth psychology-based and behavioural psychotherapy (including DBT-A for adolescents), family therapy, family counselling and parent coaching (also video-based), (remedial) education, experiential education, music therapy, occupational and body therapy, psychoeducation, milieu therapy and learning therapy.

-It is important to us to have an individual, relationship-orientated approach to each patient, which sees existing problems in close connection with the developmental stage, the developmental tasks at hand, the abilities and strengths of the patient and their family. Relationships play a central role for us. This means that each patient not only has fixed reference persons in the team of therapists, but also within the nursing and education team, who accompany them (and their parents) throughout their stay.
