Day clinic Blankenburg
Clinic for General Psychiatry
The Blankenburg Psychiatric Day Clinic is a day-care facility for the treatment of psychiatric patients who are treated during the day on working days of the week, but spend the evenings and weekends independently at home. It pursues the goal of the best possible social and professional reintegration, which is based on the restoration of mental health or extensive stabilisation of the mental illness. In addition, we want to teach patients how to deal with their illness in a self-determined and responsible manner, train them in resource-oriented behaviour and strengthen their social skills.
-Function
The day clinic stay is usually a precursor to post-inpatient outpatient treatment and therefore acts as a bridge between the inpatient stay and the subsequent outpatient therapy. However, it can also be used as a crisis intervention or as an alternative to a full inpatient stay. The length of a full inpatient stay can thus be shortened or avoided altogether. Temporary partial inpatient treatment requires more stability, but also allows patients to be more independent.
-Admission capacity
-There are 16 places available for adults. In addition, the day clinic offers 16 occupational therapy places for inpatients, day patients and outpatients at the Centre for Psychosocial Medicine.
