Upper Extremity Section

Hand, elbow and microsurgery - ward J2

Diseases and injuries of the hand pose a particular challenge for patients, as they can severely restrict their independence in everyday life. At our centre, we support people with acute, chronic and congenital diseases of the hand and forearm - from fractures and tendon and nerve injuries to arthrosis-related joint replacement operations.

Nursing care focuses on close post-operative care, pain assessment, mobilisation and instructions on how to protect and correctly position the affected hand. Patience, empathy and interdisciplinary cooperation are particularly important for patients with paraplegia or paediatric deformities. Our aim is to promote the best possible function of the hand through targeted nursing and to help our patients actively organise their everyday lives again.
