How we provide nursing at the Neurosurgery Clinic
The well-being of our patients is at the centre of everything we do. We see ourselves as qualified specialists in the monitoring, observation and care of patients and apply our medical and nursing expertise in a professional manner.
What characterises us as a team?
We see ourselves as a team that tackles the various complex nursing tasks together on a daily basis and supports each other. Our aim is to support employees and offer them the opportunity to develop and grow.
An induction concept enables us to quickly and safely familiarise new employees, healthcare and nursing students as well as interns and trainees.
Neurosurgical wards 1-3 (NCH 1-3)
Our wards in the head clinic are divided into 2 levels:
The NCH 3 elective care ward with 20 beds is located on level 00 and the NCH 1/2 standard care wards with a total of 40 beds are located on level 03.
Our treatment focuses on the pre- and post-operative care of neurosurgical clinical pictures (e.g. tumours and metastases in the head and back area, slipped discs, treatment of vascular malformations and complex operations on the spine, etc.), as well as conservative therapy, e.g. observation and perception of a patient with traumatic brain injury and much more.
The treatment of chronic pain patients and deep brain stimulation provide a further spectrum to be covered in our field.
Normal neurosurgical wards
Qualified specialists in an interesting field
The standard neurosurgical wards are divided into NCH 3 (optional services ward) and NCH 1/2 (standard services ward) with a total of 56 beds.
Our treatment focuses on the pre- and post-operative care of neurosurgical clinical pictures (e.g. tumours and metastases in the head and back area, herniated discs, treatment of vascular malformations and complex operations on the spine, etc.), as well as conservative therapy, e.g. observation, perception and monitoring of a patient with traumatic brain injury, etc.
We see ourselves as qualified specialists in a particularly interesting field and apply our medical and nursing knowledge competently.
Our focus is on the intensive support, observation and care of the people we look after. Our specialism is very dynamic, challenging, complex and varied. We work very closely in an interdisciplinary team with physiotherapists, doctors, psychologists, neuro-oncologists, the operating theatre and our intensive care unit.
