Central operating theatre of the surgical clinic
16 ultra-modern operating theatres
Our central operating theatre at the Department of Surgery is equipped with 16 state-of-the-art operating theatres, including two hybrid theatres and three DaVinci operating systems. The surgical area is complemented by three operating theatres for outpatient surgery and various external areas. Here we guarantee first-class care for our patients.
The entire surgical procedure is planned, controlled and monitored by our operating theatre management team. This team consists of our senior OR coordinator and the overall OR and anaesthesia management. We are particularly proud of the fact that both key personnel come from the nursing department.
Open and reliable communication and cooperation on an equal footing with all professional groups working in the operating theatre are the cornerstones of efficient and cost-effective work. Collegial co-operation and respectful interaction are essential for us.
Our teams have a high level of expertise and wide-ranging specialist knowledge and perform complex surgical procedures together on a daily basis. We rely on innovative medicine, new surgical techniques and close interprofessional collaboration. This close co-operation is essential to ensure the best possible care for our patients.
The surgical nursing team works in the diverse specialist areas of vascular surgery and endovascular surgery, urology, general and visceral surgery, transplant surgery and cardiosurgery. We also provide care in outpatient surgery and are responsible for the emergency care of traumatological and neurosurgical patients.
In addition to the above-mentioned specialist areas, anaesthesia nursing work is supplemented by assignments in radiology, the shock room and the recovery room.
Flexibility is essential for us, as our daily work is very varied due to our wide range of specialisms. It is important to us to enable our employees to play an active role in shaping their workplace in order to create a dynamic environment in which they can optimally contribute and develop their skills.
