Kraeplin Day Clinic

Clinic for General Psychiatry

-The Kraepelin Day Clinic aims to treat people with monopolar affective disorders (only depression or mania) and bipolar affective disorders (e.g. manic-depressive illness). In order to ensure the continuation of therapy even after inpatient treatment, we also accept patients from the inpatient areas in addition to planned admissions.

-TREATMENT CONCEPT: Our work is based on a holistic treatment concept and understanding of health. This approach is based on the assumption that the causes and progression of mental illnesses are caused by both biological and psychosocial factors and that these interact with each other. For this reason, treatment centres on the person in their bio-psycho-social context and not just the clinical picture with its symptoms. Every therapy requires a comprehensive psychiatric diagnosis, which includes not only a precise assessment of the symptoms and the development of the illness and the involvement of close relatives, but also state-of-the-art laboratory chemical, (neuro)psychological and brain imaging examinations. It is possible to take part in scientific examinations with high-tech precision diagnostics of brain function and thus benefit from a tailored, personalised range of therapies at an early stage.

-Psychiatric treatment includes both biological-medical and socio- and psychotherapeutic treatment methods, whereby they are orientated towards the individual resources and requirements of the individual patient and take into account their experiences with the illness.
