K2 Nephrology and paediatric dialysis

Our specialised nursing team supports children and adolescents with chronic kidney disease in particular - from diagnosis to dialysis procedures and kidney transplantation. With professional expertise and a great deal of empathy, we support families in all phases of treatment, focusing on individual care and close, trusting cooperation with the affected children and their families.

In addition to working in a multi-professional team, our team offers the highest level of professional expertise to care for children and adolescents who often have very complex illnesses. We often accompany many patients for years, as congenital kidney malformations often only develop into renal insufficiency requiring dialysis in adolescence.

The paediatric dialysis nurses carry out all types of extracorporeal blood purification independently according to a doctor's prescription. In the case of peritoneal dialysis, nursing staff independently instruct families on how to carry out dialysis at home. Working in a multi-professional team is another core competence that plays a key role in patient-orientated care in order to ensure holistic care at all times.
