On our neonatology ward, we offer highly qualified care for premature and newborn babies who require competent nursing and medical care. According to the Heidelberg EFIB concept we guarantee holistic care that is individually tailored to each baby.

Once intensive medical treatment has been completed, we take over the further nursing care of premature babies and sick newborns.

Our nursing staff also accompany parents who have the option of co-admission so that they can be with their baby around the clock. We support them professionally and emotionally with expertise and empathy to give families a safe start.

We also offer a paediatric sleep laboratory for the treatment of sleep disorders and work closely with other specialist departments to ensure the best possible care.

Our neonatal intensive care unit with integrated IMC area offers highly specialised care for premature and newborn babies from the 22nd week of pregnancy. As part of the Level 1 centre, we specialise in the particular needs of premature and newborn babies and are available around the clock with our highly qualified team of various professions to help the smallest of babies get the best possible start in life.

We offer personalised nursing and state-of-the-art medical monitoring. We take special responsibility for the care of premature babies and emergencies, and we also provide neonatal intensive care transport in the Rhine-Neckar region.

Our work is characterised by close interdisciplinary cooperation in order to ensure optimal care at all times. Our unique clinical experience helps us to take into account the special needs of our patient clientele. We not only provide precise medical care, but also a sensitive and calm environment for premature babies and their families.
