Our specialities:
- Oncological care: treatment of diseases of the breast, uterus, adnexa, vagina and vulva.
- Obstetrics: care of patients with pathological processes.
- Emotional and psychosocial support: We provide support with disease acceptance, body image perception and in crisis situations.
Thanks to our close collaboration with various professional groups, we offer comprehensive and sustainable care that focuses on the physical and psychological needs of our patients.
Gynaecology
IMC ward
The nursing team at the gynaecological IMC ward at Heidelberg University Hospital cares for patients with a focus on gynaecological oncology with a high level of expertise and commitment. Our range of treatments includes diseases of the breast, uterus, adnexa, vagina and vulva. We also treat obstetric patients with pathological processes and, if necessary, patients from the dermatology clinic if they require close monitoring at times.
The high complexity of the clinical pictures requires excellent organisation and close interdisciplinary cooperation. Our nursing team ensures this through structured and close-knit care. A central element of our nursing activities is the interprofessional ward round, which takes place twice a day and is attended by all the specialist disciplines involved. Nursing staff, doctors, therapists and other professional groups contribute their expertise here in order to jointly ensure the best possible care for each individual patient.
Our nursing team is characterised by a high degree of professionalism, a sense of responsibility and empathy. The close cooperation within the team and with other professional groups creates an atmosphere of trust in which our patients receive holistic and individualised care.
Through continuous training and further education, we ensure that our nursing staff are always up to date with the latest nursing and medical knowledge - for the benefit of our patients.
